Death Note

I watched the last episode again recently after seeing this hilarious video on All that desperate screaming is hard for me to laugh at in the actual context of the episode though, I love that show, it would probably be in my top 5 along with Haibane Renmei.

I came across this picture of all the Vocaloid characters... plus some unfamiliar additions. I think they're all fan made characters like Akita Neru (The angrier incarnation of Miku) and Yowane Haku (the unskilled/drunk incarnation of Miku, used for sad songs or badly written songs).

The characters from left to right, are; unknown pink-haired girl, Yowane Haku, Akita Neru, unknown silver-haired girl, Hatsune Miku, MEIKO, Kagamine Rin, KAITO, Kagamine Ren, MikuMiku, unknown red-haired girl, unknown green haired girl, and up above there's another character I don't know flying around. If anyone can tell me who they are please leave a comment.

Software Extravaganza

I really need to make blog entries more often... I've been downloading and figuring out how to use a lot of programs lately. I tried flash for a while but didn't get very far with it, made some silly videos with windows movie maker, made a lame little 30 second long game with RPG maker. I should go back to RPG maker, I never even tried anything with the battle system, just events and switches. I've been trying to figure out Zelda Classic, I got the hang of some things, like layering, placing enemies, initial game settings, but I still don't know enough to make a whole quest. I'd like to add my own graphics, but editing palettes for custom sprites and tiles just looks like too much of a hassle.

Most recently I've been playing with music making software, first some midi makers, which are fine, but MIDIs are just so dang limited, so I turned to trackers, specifically Mad Tracker, which can make just about any kind of song you want with the right sample sound or plug-in. These music programs are so much fun it makes me want to learn music theory, cuz I'll have an idea for a song in my head but just playing it by ear takes a long time, and once I've thrown out a few bars of music I never know where the song should go next or how to go about adding more parts. I've just started toying with Vocaloid, it looks like it will be a lot of fun, and if I post anything with Miku Hatsune (she's supposed to be the voice of Vocaloid) ...
... in it on youtube, (my channel is stephenarnquist by the way) it's sure to get some views. She's got a bit of a cult following (and I'm one of em ^_^;).

I've also been playing a bunch of Doujin and Indie games, (cuz I'm poor and unemployed, living at home with lots of free time and a good internet connectiong >.>) Out of the many I've played my favorites are Cave Story, Chantelise, Lyle in Cube Sector, Within a Deep Forest, and Sunset Over Imdahl.
